Veruca Salt

Veruca Salt, named after the spoiled rich girl from Willy Wonka, emerged from Chicago’s indie rock scene in the early 1990s. Founded by vocalist-guitarists Louise Post and Nina Gordon, alongside drummer Jim Shapiro and bassist Steve Lack, the band gained early recognition for their aggressive alternative rock sound and catchy melodies. Their 1994 debut album “American Thighs” established them as a force to be reckoned with, fueled by the success of the single “Seether.” “Eight Arms to Hold You,” their 1997 follow-up, further solidified their popularity.
