The Strokes

The Strokes are a New York City rock band formed in 1998. They are considered a key part of the early 2000s garage rock revival movement. The band consists of Julian Casablancas on vocals, Nick Valensi and Albert Hammond Jr. on guitars, Nikolai Fraiture on bass, and Fabrizio Moretti on drums. Their sound blends influences from garage rock, punk, and new wave, often featuring catchy melodies, Julian Casablancas’ nonchalant vocals, and a cool, detached demeanor. The Strokes’ debut album, “Is This It,” was a critical and commercial success, helping to launch the careers of many other bands in the genre. Despite some lineup changes and hiatuses over the years, The Strokes continue to record and tour, solidifying their place as one of the most influential rock bands of their generation.
