T-Pain
T-Pain, born Faheem Najm, is an American singer, rapper, songwriter, and record producer who rose to fame in the mid-2000s. He’s known for his unique use of Auto-Tune, a vocal effect he cranked up to create a signature, electronically-altered sound. This sound became a defining characteristic of much of the R&B and hip-hop of that era, with artists like Lil Wayne and Kanye West following his lead. T-Pain’s career started with a rap group but took off after he went solo. His debut single “I’m Sprung” was a major hit, and he followed it up with a string of platinum-selling albums and collaborations.
