System Of A Down
System of a Down (SOAD) is a Grammy-award winning Armenian-American heavy metal band formed in California in the mid-1990s. Known for their unique blend of aggressive music and socially conscious lyrics, they rose to prominence during the nu-metal wave of the late 90s and early 2000s. SOAD’s sound is a powerful fusion of genres, incorporating elements of thrash metal, alternative rock, Armenian folk music, and even touches of jazz. Their music is often characterized by Daron Malakian’s distinctive guitar work, Serj Tankian’s soaring vocals that shift between melody and screaming, and John Dolmayan’s dynamic drumming.
