Rob Thomas

Rob Thomas is an American singer-songwriter who wears two musical hats. He’s best known as the lead singer and driving force behind the alternative rock band Matchbox Twenty, which he co-founded in 1995. The band has released five studio albums and scored numerous hits, including “Push,” “3AM,” and “Real World.” But Thomas is also a successful solo artist. His biggest solo hit came in 1999 with his unforgettable vocals on Santana’s smash song “Smooth,” which won multiple Grammy Awards. He’s released several solo albums as well, known for their emotive and catchy melodies, with “Lonely No More” being his first major solo hit. Despite his dual careers, Thomas has managed to carve out distinct styles for each project, keeping Matchbox Twenty’s sound rock-oriented while his solo work leans more towards pop.
