The Goo Goo Dolls are an American alternative rock band formed in Buffalo, New York in 1986. Originally a cover band with a punk edge, they gained mainstream success in the 90s with catchy hits like “Name” and their iconic ballad “Iris” which topped the charts. Known for their blend of jangly guitars and emotional vocals by John Rzeznik and Robby Takac, the Goo Goo Dolls have sold millions of records worldwide and continue to tour and release new music.
